Galleria Dental Clinic makes dental crowns a 5-minute walk from Jamsil Station (Exit 4) in Songpa, Seoul. A crown is a restoration that fully covers a tooth weakened by large decay, a fracture, or root canal treatment, protecting it and rebuilding its shape and chewing function. It is used when a simple filling or inlay cannot restore the tooth.
Crown materials
- Zirconia — strong and close to the natural tooth shade; used widely on both molars and front teeth
- All-ceramic (e.max and similar) — excellent translucency, well suited to esthetic front teeth
- PFM (porcelain-fused-to-metal) — a traditional crown with porcelain over a metal core
- Gold — fit and wear close to natural teeth, an advantage on back molars
How a crown is made
- Diagnosis & preparation — the decay and nerve status are checked and the tooth is shaped to receive the crown
- Digital impression — an oral scanner (Primescan) captures the tooth for a precise fit
- Temporary crown — protects the tooth while the final crown is made
- Fitting & bite adjustment — the finished crown is bonded and the bite is fine-tuned
A root-canal-treated tooth becomes brittle, so finishing it with a crown matters. At Galleria Dental Clinic the same prosthodontics-trained dentist handles treatment through to the crown.
